Something for everyone at Darwin Adult Short Courses and 10% for SC holders

17 Jan 2023

Look out for details of workshops during Seniors Month in August.

At Darwin Adult Short Courses, we offer a range of classes and courses to suit people from all walks of life and backgrounds. Many of our senior students join classes to simply try something different, and end up leaving DASC with much more than that; an increased appreciation for other cultures, a fun new skill, and meaningful connections with their peers that last much longer than any of our courses! Our senior students are a joy to teach, and we love seeing how they learn new skills and discover new passions.

Growing older can bring about changes in the way you think and how you interact with the world around you. Studies show that learning new skills can help with memory loss, build confidence and increase confidence in everyday life. Additionally, continued learning at an advanced stage of life can keep you involved in your community, up to date on current events, maintain your mental and emotional wellbeing, and can be just plain fun! This is why we are so passionate about giving older adults the opportunity to learn new skills. We believe that learning should be accessible to everyone, no matter their age or background.

From cooking to pottery, sewing to mosaics, languages to computers and technology, there is something for everyone at Darwin Adult Short Courses.

We are partnered with COTA NT, and offer a 10% discount to seniors in our community who hold a valid Senior’s Card.

We also enjoy taking part in Seniors’ Month every year, and offer courses in pottery, cooking and physical wellbeing such as zumba, tai chi and others, all at no cost to our senior members.

We look forward to welcoming you to DASC and guiding you in your continued education journey!
